Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive cosmetic medicine treatment which allows the reduction of localized fat with the use of cold.
The method is implemented through a special device that allows treatment on specific regions of the body and enables the control of the cooling process of fat cells to trigger lipolysis. During the months following treatment, the adipocyte fragments are naturally eliminated physiologically (through the lymphatic system, the gastrointestinal tract and the liver) and the thickness of the fat layer is reduced.
The procedure is painless and allows you to immediately resume your daily activities. However, it is only possible to treat small areas at a time, so more than one session is likely to be necessary.
Scientific studies have shown the effectiveness of this method in significantly decreasing the thickness of fat tissue, through clinical and ultrasonic measurements made up to six months after treatment. More specifically, the reduction of the adipose tissue thickness is shown to be an average 22.4% after four months and 25.5% after six months from treatment.
Scientific studies have demonstrated the safety of the method.
To date, no long-term adverse events, such as, for example, permanent loss of sensitivity or damage to the skin have been reported in the scientific literature. There have however been reports of transient reductions in skin sensitivity that have returned to normal after an average of 3.6 weeks from treatment.
HOW IT WORKS
“Cryo” comes from the Greek word “kryos” which means “ice” and refers to the treatment’s mechanism of action.
Cryolipolysis is in fact based on a simple thermal principle, according to which fat undergoes reduction when “frozen.”
Since they are sensitive to cooling, the fat cells (adipocytes) located in the subcutaneous tissue are therefore subject to a crystallization process, which is followed by a spontaneous, slow and gradual lysis (apoptosis).
Cryolipolysis is particularly suitable for localized fat and is good for body contouring.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TREATMENT After 2 days
During the two days after cryolipolysis, the inflammatory process begins.
After 7 days
Within a week, an intense lobular panniculitis develops.
After 15 days
After about two weeks from the treatment session, the adipocytes are surrounded by lymphocytes, mononuclear cells and other inflammatory mediators. In this phase, the fat cells have initiated the process that leads to their reduction in size.
After 30 days
From the 15th to the 30th day, the inflammation induces a phagocytic process: the macrophages start to digest apoptotic adipocytes to facilitate their gradual elimination from the body.
AREAS OF APPLICATION Cryolipolysis is particularly suitable for localized fat on the abdomen, hips, arms, inner and outer thighs, knees and back.
Based on the depth of the fat tissue and the desired reduction, one or two treatments with an interval of 2-4 months may be enough. However, your doctor will indicate the recommended times and the intervals between sessions.
Benefits of cryolipolysis- LIPOSUCTION WITHOUT SURGERY
Cryolipolysis is the non-surgical alternative to liposuction.
This technique is performed without surgery
Does not damage the skin and surrounding tissues, it causes no pain and does not leave scars.
After treatment, patients can return to their normal work and social activities.
BENEFITS OF OUR DEVICE The benefits of the cryolipolysis device we use compared to other devices on the market are:
1) Use of a temperature of -8° C. Other devices generally use temperatures of between 0° and -3° C, which are too high to be effective if the adipose tissue is thick.
2) 2 hand pieces: treatment can be delivered bilaterally during a single session, hence saving on costs and time.
3) Large suction bells. Owing to the low temperatures used, the suction bell is wider and treatment can be delivered to a larger area.
